DEFIANT ATTITUDE

Taking a closer look at Nigeria environment these days, one will not be adjudge an unpatriotic citizen with a declaration that government is non existence in Nigeria. Majority of Nigeria will agree with me on this issue. The only people that will not agree are the politician, and the people who are taking crumbs as dividend of democracy from them.
In the last twelve years of democratic setting, the government has found it difficult to provide the citizen with basic social      amenities. I doubt if there is a state in Nigeria that is enjoying adequate supply of pipe borne water. Nigerians are still experiencing darkness with epileptic power supply for over twenty years now. The road networks are quite bad. Roads that are constructed before independence, after and in the 70’s are better off in standard and qualities than the one’s being constructed these days.Adequate provision of shelter is non-existent. How many Nigerians can afford the houses built under the federal housing mortgage scheme. Those that have benefited from this scheme, how many of them were able to complete the terms of the agreement before the houses are taken back from them due to either job loss or collapse of their investment.
Social benefits in terms of various welfare packages been enjoying by most citizen of the developed countries especially the teeming unemployed and the aged are non-inexistent. Our state of security and level of preparedness in an emergency situation have been tested several times, and we have been found wanting most of the times. Spate of kidnapping cases, murder, and terrorist acts in recent times have shown that security can be easily breach in this country.
All these antecedents has led the Nation into the chaotic situation we now found ourselves. People engage in unlawful activities without recourse to law. Most Nigerian families no longer feed adequately well. This presuppose that a family that found it difficulty to feed well will definitely found it difficult to impart values, morals and good manners into its younger generation. Such families will continue to breed generation of defiant characters. All these are result of bad governance. A bad family can never translate to a good society. So in essence family acting as agent of socialization is a foregone conclusion in our polity.
Some of our leaders are exhibiting this form of character in the way they run Nigeria affairs. They believe they are not answerable to us since they got their mandate through rigging of election process and not through effective and efficient ballot system. This made them to circumvent policies they made themselves through their actions and inaction in the execution of the nation’s economic policies.
Millions of Nigerians are wallowing in abject poverty and our political leaders are feasting on the nations resources without blinking an eyelid or even showing remorse for their on-human act. I do not belief that one has to be a member of a political party before one can start enjoying the so called dividend of democracy. Since the past twelve years that the People Democratic Party has been the ruling party in Nigeria, their main campaign slogan of poverty eradication has not been reflected on the entire populace except few Nigerians that are fraternizing with them.
The nation political class is yet to learn their lessons. Their campaigns on radio and television stations shows that they are not yet matured and they equally lack the political intellect on how to organize campaign. Most of their campaigns are tailored towards character assassination, blackmailing, violence, arson rather than been issue based. Listen on their jingles on radio and their campaign on television stations signifies nothing but noise making to the electorate. There are yet to give us an antidote to the myriads of problems ravaging the country. Comment expressed by some of them while campaigning only confirm our fear that the nation had already falling into wrong hands and it is only God that can get us out of their grip.
I remembered vividly well that during the first and second republic nearly all the political party had manifesto. The electorate used their manifestos to compare the various programs they claim the citizens are going to enjoy when they eventually get into office. So the electorate uses the information at their disposal together with the caliber of people in each political party to choose the party they thought is likely to perform. Today we are only witnessing violence, arson, intimidaton, aggressor, murder and rigging of election. This probably explains why manifesto is no longer in vogue in their political calculations, plans, and strategies. They seem not to have faith in the nation’s electoral system anylonger.Reason being that most of them got to the office through the back door and not through peoples’ mandate.
Our late President was bold enough to say that he did not get to the office through the peoples mandate immediately he came into office. This statement explain why the political class are defiant in their in their attitude towards Nigerians.
The current campaign train of the ruling party is nothing but mere wastage of the nations’ resources. It also signify defiancy. The party can not tell us that the money been expended on this projects comes from the pockets of individual party members. With the myriads of problems confronting the nation vis-à-vis unemployment, corruption, energy, inflation, food shortages, housing, security, bad roads, lack of  portable water, kidnapping, health care, decayed infrastructural facilities, decayed educational system, lack of institution ,terrorism, I found it difficult to belief that the Government can still go on spending spree.
With this defiant attitude of our leaders in their resolve to ground the nation’s resources to a halt, it is going to take the nations a longtime to get out of  the doldrums. Their defiancy in resolving to steal us blind by looting the nation’s treasury explain the do or die stands of our politicians to get to the office at all cost. The incessant killings, kidnapping and bombing being experienced in the polity are politically motivated tailored towards achieving their selfish ambition. Age is nothing but a number as the saying goes. However I belief the younger ones should be allowed to take over the helms of affairs in the polity and the old men should leave the stage. We need fresh brains. We need young men that can postulate the right economic solution to the nations economic problem that has defied all forms of solution in recent time.
If efforts are not made to solve these problems, then the nation should be ready for avalanche of grave repercussion which is likely to befall us in the future. The Movement for the Emancipation of Niger Delta’s {MEND} threat to bomb major cities the country is an exhibition of defiancy brought about by the defiant posture of the ruling class. That is the truth. If the government over the years had solved their problems, the youth restiveness that metamorphosis into gangsters and gradually threading along the path of terrorism would have been nip in the bud long before now.
The insubordination of the political class to the teaming masses of Nigeria populace is gradually caughting up with them. Nigerians are still confused as to how a member of house of representative and senate member could be earning as much as #15m and #20m naira per month. To make matter worse, a counselor is earning more than a university professor in our system. What an insult.Definately this is not acceptable.
A system that profess zero tolerance for corruption and at the same time celebrating criminalities leaves no one in doubt as to the seriousness of this government in justifying its claim.
Nigerians are in perilous state. Majority of the people are living in penury, while the political class and their cohorts are living ostentatious life. One does not need a soothsayer to inform us that the political class actions and deeds will boomerang soon. We are all living witness to the recent happenings in places like Egypt, Tunisia, Bahrain and currently Libya. If anyone belief that this type of political upheaval been experienced in those countries can not take place in Nigeria should have a rethink and take time to analyze the situation on ground. Some of the reasons which lead to political unrest in those countries are similar to what we are experiencing in Nigeria now.
Most crime been perpetrated in the country today are carried by the youth. The Nigeria youth corpers, those in service, and those that have finished service but still unemployed have discovered that surviving in Nigeria system is far beyond holding a certificate. One has to fight over everything before you can survive in system.
The defiance attitude been exhibited by our leaders does not start now. This is an act they have developed since adulthood; they are only using their political platform to unleash their act of treachery on Nigerians. It is a cyclical phenomenon, because very soon most Nigerian youths will graduate into the political class and the cycle will continue. In other words they too will start to exhibit the defiant character in them. So the question is how  do we stop this trend. The truth is people who have perfected the habit of circumventing all known laws, will do everything possible to make sure that the status quo remains unchanchanged.
          Thank you.

THE REALIGION PRACTITIONER AS THE REAL PROBLEM OF RELIGION

We will dwell into a little bit of historical facts for the purpose of this write up. It is a known fact that Ishmael and Isaac are of the same offspring. It is also a statement of fact that Sarah gave her maid Haggai to Abraham as wife when she was unable to conceive. Forget the inspiration to interpret what the bible says, we know Abraham never called Haggai his wife. Abraham casted out Haggai and her son Ishmael on Sarah’s instruction backed up by God when Haggai started misbehaving. We are also aware that this does not go down well with Abraham. All the aforementioned confirm Ishmael son ship right to Abraham. Before the departure of Haggai and Ishmael into the desert or wilderness, whatever, Abraham makes sure he got food and water for his wife and son.
What happened when the mother and child are in the wilderness also corroborate that God Himself accepted the son ship right of Ishmael to his father Abraham. He did this when He rescued the mother and child from dying of thirsty by providing well water for them through which they were able to quench their thirst. God also made a pronouncement that he will make a nation out of Ishmael. He went on to inform Haggai that He had seen that she was treated badly and for this the child she is carrying will help her out. So in essence God did proclaim the type of person Ishmael will be right before he was conceived. As a freedom fighter if you ask. Please read your bible very well and tell me the literary meaning of God’s statement regarding this. God recognized the fact that Haggai was badly treated. The question is by whom? Is it by Sarah? Or is it by Abraham? One needs God’s wisdom and understanding to interprete this bearing in mind that God himself gave backing to Sarah’s instruction concerning this.
When Abraham died at the ripe age of one hundred and seventy five, it was Ishmael and his brother Isaac that gave their father Abraham a befitting burial.
Let us now trace the genealogy of Ishmael and Isaac. It has been established and widely acclaimed that Prophet Mohammed (SAW) who is the progenitor of Islamic religion came directly from the Ishmael descendant. While Jesus, Al Masih in Arabic language (ASAW) who is the progenitor of Christianity came from the descendant of Isaac. All these are established facts. This goes to show that both Jesus and Mohammed are blood brothers. This singular fact made all their followers brothers and sisters; this is what this has confined on all who believe in them and their teachings.
In Galatians chapter five where Apostle Paul made reference to this historical facts. He did refer Haggai as a bonded woman and Sarah as the free woman. He went ahead to claim that Haggai can be likened to Mount Sinai which represents Saudi Arabia  of today and Sarah represent Jerusalem. To my own understanding Paul made all this interpretation based on his own spiritual understanding of the whole events as it is espoused in the Old Testament.
I would want anyone that care to listen to impress it on everybody that it has come to a stage we have to put a stop to the trend whereby religion is used to fan the ember of discord in the world. This ugly trend has to stop. The two religions preach peace. Why hiding in it to perpetrate evil. There is no place inside the Bible and Quran where God approve of violent and senseless killings.Infact this act is condemn out rightly in all its entirety. Unfortunately this is what we now experienced these days among the practitioners of the two religions. People should stop hiding the cloak of religion to cause confusion all over the world.
I would have loved to expatiate further on this, but I have to abide by the teaching of the Holy books. God does not make a judge on this issue, so I recognized the fact that I can not pass judgement.I belief God himself will at appointed time judge everyone that is using religion to foment trouble all over the world has He deem fit. Most practitioners of this religion are hypocrite; they failed to see the log in their own eyes while accusing their fellow human being of wrongdoings. It’s only God that can judge some of you. Some of you have used your antics and evil ways to misled people. Unfortunately most people are cowed and afraid to speak out. I made bold to claim that some of them are worse than some people that we tagged as been violent in the society.
There is no justification for the recent killing of the Pakistan Governor .How do you explains it? Just because the man refused to conform to the statusquo by supporting the authority to pass death sentence on a Christian woman accused of blasphemy against the holy Prophet Mohammed. This is my point with these practitioners of this religion. I doubt if they do read these Books they profess to believe in. There was no place in the Bible where any killings on the accusation of blasphemy was suported.Even Jesus that was killed based on this did not want to die, but he allowed it to happen just to fulfill the prophecy. Though Quran believed he ascended to heaven before the killing take place. The person that was killed was definitely not Jesus. Quran was emphatic on this that on no occasion must a Muslim kill his fellow man unless mistakenly. Penalties for these offences were spelt out. Quran did say that on no account must children be killed for lack of wealth. Allah said he will always provide for us. Unfortunately this entire barbaric act now pervades our entire life, all in the name of religion.History has shown that most of these people that claimed that they are religion leaders are mostly perverters, paranoid and schizophrenic.  May God help us from these hypocrites.
According to Quran, a good Muslim must have belief in all God’s prophet and their books. So a good Muslim must desist from critizing the word inside bible blindly. We recognized the fact that there are some areas where there are some differences, all we need is understanding to accommodate each others ideas, beliefs and interpretations on these areas. Muslims and Christians that have gone on holy pilgrimage to Mecca and Jerusalem can attest to the fact that there is no much difference, apart from the mode of worship.
So Israel, Pakistan, Lebanon, Afghanistan, Nigeria, United State of America and all nation of the world that have experienced one form of terrorist acts in the name of religion should please wake up and let us sheath our hatchet and call off the bluff of any Political leader, religion leader or any leader of sorts that might wants to use religion as a tool to cause disunity and war among the nations of the world.
Thank you.

DIRECT DATA CAPTURING MACHINE VS SIM CARD REGISTRATION MACHINE

Voter’s registration for the forthcoming election started on shaky note. Initial hitches have to do with the faulty machine and its peripherals. It’s peripheral which include scanner, camcorder, printer and mobile power generating plant plant which is the only major difference between it and laptops used for the sim card registration exercise. Couple with the faulty machine is the inexperience shown by the adhoc staffs of INEC that were recruited for the registration exercise. The inexperience shown by the adhoc staff only shows that they were not given adequate and sufficient training before the commencement of the exercise.
From the above one can deduce that there is no much difference between the two machines except that SCRM doesn’t need a mobile generating plant to function effectively because it has a better and strong battery compared to the ZAUZAU DDCM that INEC has decided to use for this exercise.
I love this country. Nigerians will never get the true picture of things until the stand taken on a particular cause boomerang. Can someone tell me the sincerity of purpose in this exercise? Firstly three companies were given the mandate to supply the DDC Machine. Two of them were able to meet up before the deadline given, while the third one defaulted.Uptil now the company is yet to fulfill its own part of the contractual agreement.
Remember the federal government invested about #87 billion on this exercise, and out of this, #40 billion was actually devoted for the importation of DDC machine, ordinary laptops.Haba! The government made us to belief she’s importing an out of this world machine for the exercise which nigerians thought will stem the tide of election malpractices. No wonder the coining of acronym DDC machine. Nigerians now know that what you brought in were merely Laptops. For God sake!
An indigenous company even participated in the bid, but you rubbished the company and gave it to foreign firms probably to cover your track. Nigerians hope you are already on the trail of the third company that reneges.
Secondly both public and private schools were asked to close down for two weeks for this exercise. The argument put up border on the security of school children, but until now I am yet to see how the school children are involved in this. The thinking initially was that probably they will use schools for the exercise.
Since the commencement of the exercise it has been one form of complain to the other. The exercise was characterized with lateness of the adhoc staff to registration centre, faulty machine, inadequate materials, fighting, beating up of adhoc staffs, stealing of DDc Machine, issuance of duplicate registration card instead of original and non payment of adhoc staff allowance which made them to stay away from most registration centers’ for two days.Infact until now there are some arears where they are yet to see these adhoc staffs. All these have resulted to the inability of eligible voters to register thereby indirectly disenfranchising them to perform their civic rights and obligation.
In one of my write ups I pointed out that professor Attahiru Jega might have good intention, but definitely he cant be everywhere at the sametime. So the issue of security have to be taken seriously because those people that can decide to beat the adhoc staff during registration can do anything during the election proper.
I would like the Professor to tell Nigerians if he was privy to the bringing in of CHINCO laptop of less memory into Nigeria. The laptop’s memory has to be upgraded before it can perform to full capacity.
Before they seek the advice of an expert they came up with frivolous stories that the machine would not capture the data of anyone suffering from one form of ailments. That is a lie.
The exercise will end this week Saturday. There is no way the exercise will not be review in order to accommodate the electorate that are yet to register. Again people are already suspecting that the process is being manipulated by some desperate politicians. Nigerians just have to make sure their votes counts this time around in order to ensure we vote the right people into office and not thugs that have turned our days into nightmare.
On a final note, there is no justification for contracting foreign firms to handle a project that an indigenous company can perform creditably well. We know the pedigree of so many computer firms, Gsm operators, telecom service providers in this country. We know what they can do if given the opportunity to proof their mettle.Atleast we know what they have been able to do with the SIM CARD REGISTRATION exercise. Nigerians are no fools; do not make us the laughing stock of the international community.
Thank you.

RECRUITMENT DRIVE

Doing business in Nigeria nowadays is too costly. If you want to invest in production sector, you will have to contend with energy problem. The fact is you will ended up using most of your capital to power your generating set which in the long run will increase your overhead cost astronomically thereby eroding on your profit margin if you ever make any. What of the cost of raw materials used as input in the production process which seems to be shooting up to the roof on a daily basis. So investment on production is out of it for now.
I think trading is ok.Whatever the case one is likely to break even. Barring no unusual circumstances in which one does not have control over. If you are a Nigerian you will understand what I mean. There is other area that seems to be very lucrative. Some are highly capital intensive, while in others you will have to be bold, in some trickish, in some a perfect liar and in others you must have a ‘calling’radiating all over you before you can thread this path.
My business have not been doing well for sometime now, so I have been thinking and I have even took time out to engage some people in a think tank. After all said and done, I was able to come up with this lofty and laudable idea, which to my mind will raise my status in the Nigeria society and at the same time make, me a wealthy man. Some brave and hard people both men and women are ready to come on board with me and the name of this new company is ‘Thuggery  Nigeria Limited’
Our aim and objective is to satisfy our clients, by making the general public to show and accord them the necessary respect. We are ready to go to any length to achieve this. We will make the perceived enemies of our clients to be in constant awe of them. So for those people such as professors, industrialist, People of the fourth state of realm, culturedand refined people of Nigeria including religionist that have interest in politics but does not know how to recruit thugs by virtue of their public status should get in touch with our company. I and member of my team are ready to do this for them, so that they can participate fully in politics and as well become very powerful politicians.
Good people of Nigeria what is your opinion as to this idea of mine? I want your comments on this. The point I am trying to make is that it’s high time our legislator put an end to this senseless shameful act of thyggery in all our facets of life. It’s very archaic and embarrassing. At this age our politicians still belief that the only way they deem fit to win an election is by engaging the services of thugs.Moreso these are the set of politicians that throw caution to the wind once they get to office by becoming unctrollable since they know that they to the office by rigging, so they are not answerable to us. The problem of thuggery as ever been with us but it always become more pronounced during democracy period. This pattern has to be altered because we know that there is always increase in criminal activities immediately after politics and this as a result of an increase in the number of weaponry at the disposal of these thugs. Since they don’t have job again most of them make use of this weapon to engage in criminal activities.
I believe nobody prayed to be social misfit, if the settings are right in such a way that everybody engages in one form of economic activities. So Nigerian leaders wake up to your responsibilities by coming up with good economic plan and agenda that will make this country a safe haven for all Nigerians to live in. If you think you can indulge your own children to the detriment of the children of the masses of this great nation, you are joking. God will punish whoever among you that is not sincere to the course of this country especially if you fail to do what is right. I mean right things that will break this nation from the shackle of poverty and get her to the rightful position in the comity of nation. A word they usually say is enough for the wise.
Thank you.

GLORIFICATION

Good morning.Salaam.Peace be on to you.All these are forms of greetings.Allahu akbar.Halelujah.These  are ways of extolling God which translates to God is great and God be praised.Olori oh ah!Tu ale!Are also forms of greetings. I know you will be wondering what sort of language this is.Olori in Yoruba means two things at least to my own understanding of the language.Olori means head of an organization while it also means King’s wife. To be candid I found it difficult to comprehend the second phrase Tu Ale.
However, for those of us that is closer to the NURTW member by virtue of our association with them, either as a commuter or as their neighbor. Most of us are used to their forms of gretings which sometimes seems funny, exciting, and captivating when they are making series of gesticulation to express their mode of greetings. These slogans Olori Oh Ah, Tu Ale and Baba Agba or Baba Agbalagba are what they used in exchanging pleasantries among themselves and also for someone they adore as a form of respect. The most commonly used are Olori Oh Ah and Tu Ale. Social miscreants also use them whenever they wanted to solicit for assistance.
The real reason for delving into this area has to do with my experience recently. It really made me scare and it’s also somewhat frightening. I met a university graduate that has just finished his one year compulsory service using these slogans in a way reminiscent to the way social miscreants used them. The graduate is of the cerebral type based on my assessment of him.Eversince I came across this guy, the question that has been agitating my mind is: Could it be that he has been recruited into their fold? Or is it that the young man has found solace in the midst of these miscreants? You may be wondering why all these question. It just has to do with our daily experience, lots of things are happening out there and if care is not taking one is likely to fall into wrong circle all in the name of wanting to survive under harsh economic condition in which we found ourselves. The young graduate is now in the outside world and he suddenly realized that thuggery is  well recognized and accommodated in our society.Moreso since in the present political dispersion their services seems to be in high demand. One will not be surprised if this our young decided to take up job as a political thug if eventual he was unable to get a good job or even start a business on his own. So a graduate that has been thought the power of pen right from the rudimentary stage up to university level will now embrace matchets, cudgel, axe even gun as tool.May day.May day.May day.Are we not getting it wrong already?
Nigerian politicians should try to put an end to thuggery glorification.Infact the use of thug in Nigeria politics should end forthwith. Acknowledgement of their services should end with the payments given. Inviting them for thanksgiving in the house of God in the glare of congregation that has been in awe of them through the news they have heard about this people is not acceptable. The truth is these people are also tired of been refer to as thug or kingpin whatever .Several times leaders of NURTW have clamed to be  partisan politicians themselves and not thug as some politicians have claim. If the NURTW claim is true then it is left for them to shun any politician that might want to use or recruit their member to engage in thuggery activities during the forthcoming election.
They should take a cue from the recent killing of Alhaji Lateef Salako Elewe omo under very strange circumstances. The man was killed during People Democratic Party state primary. May God grant his family, friends and associates the grace to bear the loss. Unfortunately the man still has an aged mother. A serving senator has been accused for the murder. I would just implore the Oyo state commissioner of police to thread softly, because from all indication it seems they have some how crucify the man already going by what we read on the pages of newspaper. However there is a twist to the whole story as the state primary election of the senatorial district of the accused senator has been councilled. This only shows that his party does not belief the man is responsible for the murder. Secondly the question is will the person that has been declared as the winner will agree for the rerun of the primary?
There is a lesson for the NURTW members to learn from all this. The lesson is warning their members to stay clear of politics.
On a final note, Nigerian government should do everything within its capacity to remove unemployed Nigerian youths from the streets. The problem of unemployment is not associated to graduates alone. It affects all sacked workers as well. Albeit efforts has been made recently to set up a model skill acquisition centre in Abuja fashion after the one in Singapore. I believe the right thing to do is to set up this institution in all the state of the federation and it must be free. Admission into this institution must not be restricted. It should be for anyone that might have interest .Students that finish from this school must be empowered and adequately monitored.
I hope if this is done quickly we will have a respite, atlest for a while.
 Thank you

NUMBER 1 PUBLIC ENEMY

My own definition of number one public enemy or what I belief it really mean is a non conformist. Someone that does not belief in the set rules and principles guiding a community or a society. A non conformist will do everything to aid, abet injustice and at the same time pervert justice.
Non conformist are found everywhere. They are in politics, social, religion and economic circle.
It is however interesting to note that the case described above is not always true in a compromised society. In an already compromised state, you are termed number one public enemy if you refused to be compromised. Some people will even have the audacity to say it to your face that you are in insane.
Well I do not know whether this is peculiar to the developing nation alone. People of the developed world should please tell us if this is the same pattern that exists in your countries.
You are considered a misfit if you don’t take bribe, if you don’t cheat in an examination, rig an election, if you are not smart as to swindle your fellow human being. This is the ratrace that has taking over our land.
You are tagged number one public enemy the moment they found you out as a nonconformist to the set rules, guidelines and conventional beliefs that pervades an already compromised settings.
Thank you.

In my last write up, I made bold to say that I am yet to see a serious contender out of all the candidates aspiring to be Nigeria number one citizen come 2011.We already know PDP’s candidates for this exalted position. Other party’s contestants are coming out in trickles. For instance Mr. Nuur Ribadu has come out under ANC and Retired Major General Mohammed Buhari is running under CPC.
The truth is wether we like it or not the incoming president will come out of the PDP.This explain the exchange of banter between the incumbent president and the former vice president. Only a fool will not subscribe to this assertion. Even if PDP decide to relinquish power vis-à-vis various positions both at state and national level, they would want to hold tenaciously to the Presidential position by using the incumbency power. forget about the current saying as to creating enabling environment for a credible election, it is all farce. Election was recently held in Ekiti state, we had reports of how it went. Snatching of ballot boxes and thugery was the order of the day.
This only implies that the issue of security is yet to be properly addressed by INEC as the election is fast approaching. Unfortunately we are still going to make use of our police force as law enforcement agents to make sure there no security lapses as well as breech of security. But this has never worked. The situation is always the other way round. Our law enforcer always team up with party agents thugs, and some unscrupulous INEC officials on the election day to perfect the art of rigging. This is the exact situation of things throughout the country during election period. The stealing of the DDC capturing machine at the airport only shows how porous our entire security network in this country is. It also shows the do or die attitude of the political class in Nigeria. Some people have already been arrested for this crime, but we would never be surprised if eventually the matter is swept under the carpet, because it was the politician themselves that are behind the theft. They only wanted to still the machine to perfect their rigging plans.
The Abuja bombing blast in October 1st this year is still fresh in our memory. Nigerians expected that the culprit ought to have been brought to book by now. Why foot-dragging on it? The result of the foot-dragging is the result of multiple bomb blast that just occur in Jos and Maiduguri. Arrest have been made already, I belief if this people are subjected to serious scrutiny we will get to know that the crime was not committed based on religious ground. The fact is people committed heinous crime in this country hiding under the cloak of religion. The real reasons are politically and economically motivated.
The skirmish in all states’ of house of assembly, house of representative and the national assembly has to do with allegation of financial impropriety leveled against the leaders of these chambers. It is difficult to hear that our honorable men are fighting each other in the house over an issue that will bring succor to the teeming masses of Nigeria. Rather they were busy fighting for their own interest. We still remember the case of Dino Melaye group against the speaker Dimeji Bankole. At the state level the house of assembly members are always neck deep with their governors over monetary issue.
It is very disheartening to point out that over the past twelve years since the advent of this political dispensation, our nations’ yearly budget has failed in terms of implementation both at the local, state and national level. It is a shame. Both the legislative and executive arm of government does not want to take blame for this. It is important to point out that, despite the non full implementation of the budget at the three tiers of government our honorable men always make sure that current, concurrent/recurrent expenditure are always implemented to the latter at the expense of the capital expenditure thereby making them criminally wealthy.
The Central Bank Governor came out badly to accuse the national assembly members of gross financial indiscipline. The man stood by his claim as he refused to be cowed to render an apology to the already shaken house. How could one explain a situation whereby 288 people be accounted for 25% of the nations yearly budget .You people are stealing us blind.
The speaker of the house of representative also came out with a counter accusation that the executive are also responsible for about 50%.This is an interesting scenario.
Probably Mr. speaker failed to realize that most of the executives’ members are professional except the ministers and so many government officials that are political appointees. If the speakers claim is true then Nigeria is in serious trouble going by the virtue of the kind of people that were entrusted with leadership position in this country.Hmm,I think the honorable speaker is trying to tell us that both pot and kettle are black. Sir we are not blind and neither are we deaf.
I think it is high time the government of this country evolve a political system that will downplay money politics in the nation’s political settings. The nation’s political system should be demonetized. The government should find a way to make elected positions in this country less attractive. By doing this, we will be left with people of impeccable character that will be ready to serve our country and people very well. Then nobody will have to remind us that pot and kettle will act as a check on themselves thereby correcting the imbalance in the nation’s economy.
Honestly if you ask me something is wrong with us as a people and a nation. This really portend a great danger. It is as if there is a virus that is ravaging our leadership position. Wether elective or appointed positon, once they assume the mantle of authority, their conscience died. It remained dead they left office. Those that regain theirs are those that came out clean after leaving office. Very few anyway. For those that came out with the spoils of office, their conscience remains dead.

What am I trying to point out? Why are our leaders so wicked? Don’t they realize that they are committing a great crime against the people of this country through their nefarious activities all in the name of wanting to have political power and gain recognition? It is sad. Let me make something clear. Nigerians are not ignorant. We know what is going on. The fact is Nigerians are confused seeing that the people that have mounted the mantle of leadership have Suddenly become very bad. Nigerians have never had it so bad. Both the leaders and followers are putting the blame on the existing system. The system that has suddenly become systemic and compromised. Sooner the same system I belief will become self regulating and self sanitized.

Our leaders does not care about the welfare of people of this country, once their needs are met. Is it their jumbo pay, juicy allowances and huge amount of money been voted for each committee set up to look into ministries and federal parastatals that we are going to talk about? How can one explain a situation whereby our national   assembly members earn more than their counterparts in developed countries, United State of America for instance? For crying out loud how can these people justify their
earning of #240 million/#204 million as their take home per annum for a senator and house of representative member. What are the yardstick used in measuring this? To make matter worse the house leaders are yet to affirm or refute this claim. Let us reaffirm the claim of CBN Governor and that of the Speaker of the house of representative by juxtaposing their claim. In the final analysis it means, the remaining 25% of the nation’s budget is left to the judiciary and the rest of Nigeria to benefit from. Bearing in mind that the Budget has never been fully implemented since the advent of this political
dispensation.Infact the implementation of 2010 budget was an act of misdeed and misconduct.
I am happy that the chartered institute of bankers (CIBN) has lend credence to the claim that the nation’s foreign reserves have been depleted greatly from $62 billion dollars to about $34 billion dollars or there about.

This is a good development. Nigerians need to wake up. speak up and stand up against unwholesome act of these politicians. We are aware of where most of our leaders are coming from in terms of their primary constituency. We haveprofessosrs, doctorate, retired military soldiers and lots of professionals who have passed through university communities and military abode where normalcy is practiced. Unfortunately things that are considered as immoral acts like cultism, thuggery, financial indiscipline in their primary constituency now pervades this government. Most of our politicians have at one time or the other had fraternized with leaders of most of the different type of organized group that now constitute greater security risk to our country. This group of people have suddenly become too hot for the government to handle. Now that the election is fast approaching this the time our politicians will tend to patronized these gangsters in order to perfect their rigging plan. This is the confusion we are currently facing in the polity. We are far away from the politics of the past where ideology thrives far above the mediocrity and shenanigans that we are now experiencing.

How do one explain a situation whereby a party leader will lead an army of thugs to attack their assumed or purported enemies in a state house of assembly? The resultant effects is usually death or maiming of their perceived enemies. All these are not supposed to be happening in a sane society. I hope the President will do something about all these in the next dispensation. Hopefully he will scale through his party primaries and eventually win the presidential election, if its not scuttled.

On a final note, Nigerians are hoping that the incoming president will revert back to an inch all the miles that have already been taken by our politicians. I belief in the assertion  that men that have all the resources of the nations at their disposal tends to be limited in understanding as to how to make judicious use of them to better the lot of the people who reposed their trust and confidence in them to take care of their affairs. Rather they go to sleep leaving the citizen to grope in darkness.
This is the situation we are facing in Nigeria now.

Thank you.
